About the Assessment

What does the assessment involve?

In order to carry out the assessment, some background information is gathered from the school and your child’s parents/guardians which will help to provide information for the diagnostic report. On the day of the assessment, your child will be given a range of tasks and we will go through them together. This should take approximately three hours to complete, with plenty of opportunities for breaks. The assessment can take place in whichever location your child feels most comfortable. This could be in their school or at my home. I have a comprehensive Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Detailed Recommendations

After the assessments are completed, I will analyse and interpret the results to identify specific strengths and weaknesses and to determine if your child has dyslexia.

I will provide you with a comprehensive report outlining the findings of the assessment, explaining how the results might be interpreted. It will also include a list of realistic recommendations which can be used to support your child at school and at home. I will then talk through the report with you and it can be shared with your child's school.

If your child has been diagnosed with dyslexia, it is important to work with their teacher and educational support team to develop strategies in order to help them succeed in school and beyond.
